George Qiao is a photographer, artist, curator, and arts and cultural leader with more than 20 years of professional experience in photography, museum development, exhibition curation, cultural preservation, international artistic exchange, and photography education.

He is the Founding Art Director of the Dali Photography Museum in Yunnan, China, where he led the museum's artistic development and helped build a permanent collection of more than 500 historical photographs documenting the photographic history of Yunnan. He also established collection partnerships with photography institutions in the United States, France, and Australia, and collaborated with the French and Australian Consulates in Chengdu on exhibitions of historical photography of Yunnan.

George is also a Co-Founder and Art Director of DALI ART FACTORY, a 5,000+ square-meter creative and cultural complex in Dali. He developed international artist residency programs, curated exhibitions, and worked with a community of more than 50 resident artists and international creators from China, Australia, Canada, the United States, France, Norway, and Taiwan.

As a member of the Arts Council of the Dali International Photography Exhibition (DIPE) from 2014 to 2023, he contributed to the curation and production of numerous photography exhibitions. He has also partnered with Magnum photographers to organize three Magnum Masterclass photography workshops in China, serving more than 100 participants.

His photographic career includes extensive work in geographic, travel, documentary, editorial, and fine-art photography. He has worked as a contributing photographer and editor for World Geographic Magazine in Taiwan and as Chief Photographer for a national Chinese geography publication, producing visual stories in diverse cultural and geographic environments across Asia.

His practice brings together photography, visual storytelling, cultural heritage, education, and international exchange.

Based in Dallas, Texas, George is currently developing new photography, arts, education, and cultural projects in the United States and internationally.
